The XAF connector is an insulation displacement socket connector which is compatible with the existing XA connector crimp housing (plug housing). 

Wire-to-board header compatibility

The existing series of XA wire-to-board headers can be utilised as the mated counterpart of the XAF connector. This allows through hole, high box, top entry, side entry and SMT headers to be utilised as the mated counterpart of the XAF connector.

Wire-to-wire compatibility

The existing wire-to wire XA receptacle housings (with and without panel locks) can also be utilised as the mated counterpart of the XAF connector.
